Sitting on the rugged north-western shore of the westerlands, the Banefort is a remote castle facing the Sunset Sea and the approaches from Ironman's Bay. Ironborn longships have long troubled this stretch of coast.
House Banefort holds it as bannermen of Casterly Rock. Distance from the Rock and from the main roads has kept the family somewhat apart, but its levies ride when the Lannisters call their banners.
