Built where the White Knife empties into the Bite, White Harbor is a walled city of whitewashed stone with a fine sheltered port. Ships from the south, the Free Cities and the Vale unload at its quays, making it the North's window on the wider world.
House Manderly has ruled it for a thousand years, since the Starks granted them the site after they were driven from the Reach. They keep the New Castle above the harbour and worship the Seven, unusual in a region of old gods.
