Guarding the mouth of the Mander where it meets the Sunset Sea, Greenshield, Greyshield, Southshield and Oakenshield were fortified specifically to bar ironborn raiders from sailing up the river into the heart of the Reach.
Each island has its own lord and its own longships, and beacons on their heights warn the mainland of approaching sails. Their garrisons have grown complacent in the long peace, but the islands remain the Reach's shield against the sea.
