Located in the eastern crownlands not far from the shore of Blackwater Bay, Rook's Rest is a compact castle in wooded country. Roads from Duskendale and the capital pass nearby.
House Staunton holds it, a crownlands family sworn to the Iron Throne, and its lords have sat on the small council in earlier reigns. The castle saw dragonfire during the Dance of the Dragons, and its name has been remembered in histories since.
