Lying in the Sunset Sea north-west of Lannisport, Fair Isle is a green and prosperous island whose lords keep the castle of Faircastle above its harbour. The waters between the isle and the mainland form a strait ships must use.
House Farman holds it for the Lannisters, and their fleet helps guard the western coast against ironborn reavers. Control of the strait makes the island more important than its size suggests.
