Rising above the rolling country of the southern riverlands, this lonely hill was holy to the children of the forest, who kept a grove of thirty-one weirwoods on its crown. Andal invaders cut them down, and only the white stumps remain.
The summit gives a long view in every direction, which makes it useful to travellers and to anyone keeping off the roads. Smallfolk hold the place haunted and will not camp on it after dark, whatever the weather below.
