On the eastern shore of the Vale, facing the narrow sea, Gulltown is a walled city and the region's main outlet for trade. Ships from Braavos, Pentos and the other Free Cities dock at its quays, and much of the Vale's wool and grain leaves through it.
House Grafton rules the city under the Arryns, and the Old Anchor of House Melcolm stands nearby. Merchants, sailors and moneylenders give the place a cosmopolitan flavour uncommon elsewhere in the mountainous Vale.
