Stretching south from the Blackwater Rush towards the stormlands, the kingswood is a vast forest of oak and pine crossed by the kingsroad. Kings ride out from the capital to hunt boar and stag within it.
The wood has also sheltered outlaws for centuries, most famously the Kingswood Brotherhood, whose suppression made reputations for several knights. Charcoal burners and woodsmen live in scattered villages under its canopy.
