Built of red stone in the eastern foothills of the Mountains of the Moon, this castle guards the country between the mountains and the coast south of Gulltown. Ironoaks and the Bloody Gate lie within a few days' ride.

House Redfort holds it, an old Andal family whose lords are respected as reliable bannermen of the Arryns. Their sons are commonly fostered among the great Vale houses, and their levies form a dependable part of any Vale host.
