Lying in the Bay of Seals north-east of the mainland, Skagos is a large, mountainous island of stone, unicorn legends and dark forest. Its people are nominally sworn to Winterfell but keep their own customs and clan chiefs.
The name means "stone" in the Old Tongue. Skagosi rebelled against the Starks within living memory, and mainland northmen speak of them with unease, repeating tales of cannibalism that may be slander or may not. Ships rarely call at the island by choice.
